Teachers get laptops from San Fernando LGU

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO The local government unit (LGU) of San Fernando on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, distributed laptops to teachers from the 20 smallest public schools in the city.

The initial batch of 460 Lenovo 14-inch laptops are part of over 2,000 units for distribution to City Schools Division of San Fernando teachers which Mayor Vilma Caluag promised.

The program came four months after the mayor assumed office.

The project is aimed to equip teachers in online and face-to-face instruction.

"This will help our educators become equipped with the demands of the current education system, including the use of technology in conducting face-to-face and online classes to Fernandino students," Caluag said.

Of the 460 laptops, six were given to Alternative Learning System Instructional Managers and Madrasah Education Program Implementers.

The remaining more than 1,500 units have yet to be acquired by the city, after a series of procedures.

With Caluag during the distribution were Vice Mayor BJ Lagman, along with City Councilors Brenz Gonzales, Ricky Hizon, Ayzel Macalino, Rosemary Calimlim, and Wilzen Samia, and City Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Imelda Macaspac.
