Toddler tests positive for coronavirus

A TODDLER from a private subdivision in Barangay Sampaloc, Apalit town has tested positive for coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

Mayor Oscar "Jun" Tetangco Jr. said the child was infected by his 81-year-old grandfather who earlier tested positive for the virus.

Aside from the 4-year-old patient, two more members of the family, including the 56-year-old and 29-year-old daughters of the elderly, also contracted the disease.

Tetangco said all four patients reside in one household and were identified during the contact-tracing procedure.

The mayor added health officers are now also identifying those who came in contact with new positive patients.

As of Thursday, October 1, the municipality registered a total of 106 confirmed Covid-19 cases, 22 of which have remained active, 82 have recovered and two died.
