Tumang wants new town center for Mexico

MEXICO town Mayor Teddy Tumang said they are now in the process of acquiring an eight-hectare land near the new North Luzon Expressway Bypass Road in a bid to transfer the municipal hall and other government and public structures of the town.

Tumang said the move will decongest the old town proper from traffic and enable the municipal government to build more vital structures needed by the town.

Tumang said the current location of the municipal hall and surrounding lands does not provide for space for new vital structures.

“We will also transfer the public market. This will enable us to fully develop the new area to fit standards on traffic management as well as development,” Tumang said.

Tumang said the old municipal hall will become an office for other departments of the municipal government along with the old public market. The Sangguniang Bayan is also expected to still have their sessions at the old municipal hall.

Tumang said the move will effectively decongest the town center and also usher in new developments in other parts of the town.

The eight-hectare property will also house the new community college, buildings for the fire department as well as other structures for sectoral groups like senior citizens.

The mayor is confident of getting help from Rep. Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales.
