Veterinary drug residue seminar held in CSF

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO The Department of Agriculture for Central Luzon conducted a training on Veterinary Drug Residue Detection this October 19 in the City of San Fernando.

This is in connection with the upcoming celebration of Food Safety Awareness Week on October 24-28.

The event was led by the Feed Chemical Analysis Laboratory program under the Integrated Laboratory Division.

The objective of this workshop is to strengthen the regulatory system for food safety in the region.

This is by providing additional testing to control the presence of dangerous residues in our food chain.

On the first day as a trainer, Bureau of Animal Industry Food Safety Focal Person Hernando Tipa discussed the Legal Basis of Veterinary Drug Residue Detection, PNS for Veterinary Drug Residue, Introduction of Validation Using Elisa Reader and Basic Principles of ELISA Analysis.

The event was attended by the Regional Technical Director for Research, Regulatory and Integrated Laboratory Division Dr. Arthur Dayrit and Regional Food Safety Focal Person Abigail Beltran.

The participants of the training were veterinarians and staff from the Registration, Licensing and Quality Control Section of the Regulatory Division, Regional Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory and Chemists from the Feed Chemical Analysis Laboratory of the Integrated Laboratory Division.
