CITY OF SAN FERNANDO The provincial government of Pampanga through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office held a two-day training on Community Volunteerism and Resource Development at the Hacienda Gracia Resort in Lubao town recently.
Republic Act 9148 or the Volunteer Act of 2007 states the inculcation of volunteerism as a way of life shall rekindle in every Filipino the time-honored tradition of 'bayanihan' to foster social justice, solidarity and sustainable development.
The attendees were 33 youth leaders from the four districts of Pampanga.
Each of them actively participated in every discussion regarding Youth Volunteerism, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, Gender Expression and Sex Characteristics (SOGIESC), Child Abuse, Human Trafficking, Introduction to Community Watch Group and Men and Women Empowerment.
These topics were discussed by Sherryl B. Santos of the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
The 2-day seminar ended with the awarding of certificates to the resource speaker and participants.
