A high-performance motorsports facility is set to rise in the town of Lubao.

Pampanga officials led by Governor Dennis Pineda; Interior and Local Government Undersecretary Nestor Sanares; businessman Rodolfo "Bong" Pineda, and Lubao Mayor Esmie Pineda led the ground-breaking ceremony for the Pradera Verde Circuit (PRVC) on Sunday, June 22.

The race track was designed by Tilke Engineers and Architects, a German firm renowned for designing Formula 1 circuits.

The PRVC is expected to meet global standards for professional motorsports.

Hissham Attya, representative of Tilke Engineers and Architects, said the track spans 4.8 kilometers and features 17 turns.

He added that the racing circuit includes two layout configurations, two club loops, and a dedicated drag strip engineered to accommodate speeds of up to 255 km/h, with an average running speed of 155 km/h.

“It will be a state-of-the-art facility that will accommodate a lot of interesting races, both local and international. This is one of a kind in the Philippines that will definitely raise the bar of race tracks in the country,” Attya said.

Rodolfo “Bong” Pineda, PRVC President, said the facility is expected to be completed in more than one year.

He added that Lubao motorsports facility will complement the existing Pradera Golf and Country Club and the newly opened Pradera Theme Park, all located in Barangay Prado Siongco.

“Matagal kong pinangarap ito sa Lubao na maraming mapuntahan ang mga tao dito sa Pampanga. Meron tayong golf course, theme park at water park, at fly area para doon sa limang Ultralight,” Pineda said.

Mayor Pineda expressed confidence that the new race track, along with other developments inside the Pradera Verde, will boost local economic activities.

“Hindi lahat ng probinsya merong ganito na katulad ng sa atin. Hindi lang Lubao ang magbebenefit dito kundi tayong mga Kapampangan kasi dadayo ang mga taga-ibang bayan “ she said.
