Mabalacat City Mayor Geld Aquino on Monday commended the Pampanga Police Provincial Office (PPO) for its anti-drug operations that led to the arrest of several persons involved in the illegal trade.

Aquino served as guest of honor during the flag-raising and awarding ceremony at the PPO Parade Grounds, Capitol Compound.

The mayor was joined by Colonel Eugene Marcelo, Pampanga police director, in presenting commendations to outstanding police officers.

Among the awardees were Lieutenant Colonel Efren David Jr., Mabalacat chief of police; Patrolman Michael Joseph Dimatulac, and Patrolman Ferdie Yambot.

The Mabalacat police seized P1.4 million worth of illegal drugs in a recent buy-bust operation in Barangay Sapang Biabas.

Lieutenant Colonel Leobaldom Bacon, Arayat chief of police; Corporal Marco Polo Ramirez, and Corporal Adrian Cano; and Patrolman Almarie Lingat of the Sto. Tomas Police also received awards during the event.

“Isa pong pribilehiyo na makadaupang palad ang mga tagapagpatupad ng kaayusan sa ating probinsya. Ngayon ay ating kinikilala ang inyong katapangan, disiplina at malasakit sa Probinsiyang Kapampangan. Kami po sa Mabalacat ay nakahandang tumugon sa ano mang pangangailangan o programa ng Pampanga PNP,” Aquino said.

David, for his part, vowed to strengthen peace and order initiatives in Mabalacat.
