
Mekeni Food Corporation has proven its commitment to food safety and quality.
This, after Mekeni received its FSSC 22000 v6.0/GHP/HACCP certification after undergoing an unannounced surveillance audit conducted by SGS, a globally recognized certification body.
The company said this achievement reaffirms its "unwavering commitment to ensure the highest
standards of food safety and quality."
The FSSC 22000 certification is a globally recognized food safety standard that ensures
food organizations meet the most rigorous criteria for safety, quality, and sustainability.
Mekeni said its consistent adherence to this certification showcases the firm's dedication to protect consumer health by maintaining the integrity of its products throughout the
production process.
“This accomplishment highlights our team’s dedication to quality assurance and
reinforces our commitment to providing safe, high-quality products to Filipino families
and consumers worldwide," Mekeni president Prudencio Garcia said.
Mekeni said it has passed various food safety certifications and received
awards that include ISO 22000:2005 (Food Safety Management System) in 2006, Grand Slam Award for Best Meat Processing Plant AAA Category from 2004-2006, the World Quality Commitment Award (France, 2016), The International Arch of Europe (Germany, 2013), and the Century International Quality ERA Award (Switzerland, 2012).
The food corporation added that it is also the first and only heat processing facility accredited by Japan’s Ministry
of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries to export products to the said country since 2017.
Mekeni said it has expanded its presence in key international markets,
exporting its products to more than 15 countries, including the United States, Canada,
United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Australia, and Japan.
The Kapampangan firm said it continues to set the standard for excellence in the food processing industry, "ensuring that consumers worldwide enjoy safe, high-quality products they can trust."
