The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) - Pampanga 3rd District Engineering Office has opened the new Abacan Bridge in Angeles City.
The recently-completed infrastructure is expected to enhance connectivity and ease traffic congestion in the area.
The DPWH reported that the bridge was constructed under its Sustainable Infrastructure Projects Alleviating Gaps (SIPAG) program.
Spanning 70.7-meter, the bridge links Barangay Ninoy Aquino and Barangay Pulung Maragul, DPWH said.
The agency added that construction works include a reinforced deck slab, bored pile foundations, sidewalks, and guardrails.
The project also covers approach roads and intersections to improve accessibility.
