The country's first fully dedicated, facility-integrated Newborn Screening Continuity Clinic (NBSCC) was inaugurated at the Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center in Balanga City.

The facility is the 34th NBSCC established nationwide and the fourth in Central Luzon.

It the first fully dedicated, facility-integrated NBSCC in the country.

The Department of Health (DOH) said the clinic offers specialized, long-term care for newborns diagnosed with certain disorders.

A component of the national newborn screening program, it aims to strengthen early intervention systems and improve follow-up rates for screened children.

It also boosts the goals of the Philippine Health Facility Development Plan, which aims to modernize and broaden health infrastructure, especially in underserved and geographically isolated areas.
