CITY OF SAN FERNANDO --- Three "old bridges" along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) are currently undergoing rehabilitation following the retrofitting of the five-kilometer Candaba Viaduct.
NLEX Corporation said the projects are Pulilan Interchange bridge in Bulacan, Pau bridge in the City of San Fernando section, and Abacan bridge along the portion of Angeles City.
These structures are undergoing retrofitting and structural reinforcement, the tollway firm said.
Works include engineering interventions like extension of girders where slabs are placed; asphalting of the said slabs; construction of concrete parapets which will serve as fences, and installation of lamp posts if needed.
These are part of the P10-billion loan granted to NLEX Corporation by China Bank.
The initial completion of the projects is targeted before the Christmas vacation.
NLEX Corporation cautioned motorists to drive carefully along the bridges while under rehabilitation to avoid accidents and gridlocks.
