BARANGAY Mabiga Punong Barangay Elmer Rivera Calaguas is running for reelection in the Barangay/Sangguniang Kabataan election.
He is fielding two teams, namely: Team ERC which is composed of Elmer Rivera Calaguas (ERC) as Punong Barangay and Kagawad Alwin "Wewe" dela Cruz, Julius "Jul" Garbo, Noel Christian "Noel" Maglalang, Jason Rivera, Pong A. Jocson, Annabelle A. de los Reyes and Marlo C. Punzalan.
The other team is comprised of Kagawad candidates Edwin Tuazon, Eric Belleza, Ramon Jimenez and Ricardo Quiambao, Jr.
Listed as the barangay's accomplishments are: the acquisition of a lot for the building of an evacuation center complete with amenities, concreting of a road at Maligaya, repair and declogging of canals, a tricycle patrol, justice on wheels and an ambulance.
Kap Elmer and his council want to acquire more CCTV units to provide good perimeter security, establish an MRF , a garbage truck and concreting of roads at Aquino, Casmor Phase 2 and Filhomes.
Barangay Mabiga, under the leadership of Punong Barangay Elmer Rivera Calaguas has received awards and recognition for VAWC (#2), BCPC (#1), Nutrition (#1) and BADAC, being included in the top ten barangays in the city for being drug-free.
Also, Barangay Secretary Romeo Rivera disclosed that the barangay is in constant and close coordination with the local PNP which main office is situated at San Rafael subdivision, a stone's throw from the barangay hall for peace and order actions. Most often, he says, the barangay tanods are tapped for roving duties.
Barangay Mabiga, which IRA is P22 million as of year 2022 is home to various sizes of business establishments including the school, Mary Help of Christian School.
Resolutions were passed to clearly delineate its territorial boundaries with Barangay Camachiles.
