SEVERAL private business entities do not observe corporate social responsibilities but instead they look into possibilities of passing the burden on their respective consumers.

One such private corporation is the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) which let its consumers shoulder additional charges for its long delayed and unfinished big-ticket projects.

It envisioned that its consumers for electric power supply will benefit largely in its huge projects which aimed to provide convenience to them (the consumers).

But lo and behold, instead of granting refunds for its rising cost of electric power supply, it passed the burden on its already pressured consumers and heavily saddled them with the stiff electric power rates!

Other private business firms, however, are considerate to the stressed situation of their consumers such that they offer refunds as consuelo de bobo like Meralco and other business firms.
