The Bureau of Customs (BOC Port of Clark, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), intercepted a parcel containing cocaine and ecstasy which originated from London, United Kingdom and bound for Dumaguete City, Philippines.

The BOC said the operation was initiated following information from PDEA regarding the incoming shipment, which arrived on April 25, 2025.

On April 28, 2025, a K-9 sniff test conducted by Customs Examiners and PDEA operatives yielded positive results for illegal substances.

BOC Clark officials said that this prompted a full physical examination of the parcel.

Inside the parcel were travel kits, first aid kits and five vacuum-sealed transparent plastic packs.

Two vacuum-sealed packages contained a white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine, weighing approximately 128 grams with an estimated value of P678,400.00.

In adition to these, three vacuum-sealed transparent packs were found containing a yellowish powdery substance suspected to be Methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA)or “Ecstasy,” weighing 208 grams, with an estimated value of P884,000.00.

Samples of the compounds were submitted to PDEA for chemical analysis.

The agency later confirmed the substances as MDMA and cocaine, dangerous drugs listed under Republic Act No. 9165, as amended.

A Warrant of Seizure and Detention was issued against the shipment for violation of sections 118(g), Section 119(d), and Section 1113 paragraphs (f), (i), and (l) of Republic Act No. 10863, or the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA), in relation to R.A. No. 9165.

BOC Clark District Collector Jairus S. Reyes said the operation serves as a strong reminder of the importance of vigilance and close inter-agency coordination.

“As we work closely with partner agencies, our mission goes beyond seizures—we are protecting our communities, preserving lives, and supporting the nation’s development agenda under the leadership of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.,” said Customs Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio. “Our efforts at the borders are vital to the overall security and health of the Filipino people.” (RGN)
