Authorities intercepted P2.4-million worth of illegal drugs during a recent operation at the Port of Clark.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region III (PDEA-3) said the operation was launched after the International Cooperation and Foreign Affairs Service (ICFAS) received intelligence from foreign counterparts about a suspicious shipment.

Based on the information from the airway bill, the parcel was declared as “animal food” and bound for Metro Manila.

Upon inspection, port personnel discovered illegal substances with an estimated value of ₱2,440,100.

Among the seized items were 1,003 tablets of ecstasy, 106 grams of cathinone (a stimulant), 116 grams of ketamine (a hallucinogenic used in anesthesia).

The confiscated drugs were turned over to the PDEA laboratory.

The operation was conducted by PDEA Clark International Airport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (CRK-IADITG), Bureau of Customs Port of Clark, NBI Pampanga District Office, Philippine National Police (PNP) Aviation Security Unit 3, and the PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG).
