Authorities intercepted a parcel containing more than five kilograms of illegal drugs worth P25 million from a warehouse in Clark Freeport on Wednesday, July 30.
The operation was led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region III, Clark International Airport Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (CRK IADITG), in coordination with the Police Regional Office III (PRO-3), PDEA Pampanga Provincial Office, Bureau of Customs-Port of Clark, National Bureau of Investigation Pampanga, PNP Aviation Security Unit 3, PNP Drug Enforcement Group, and Mabalacat City Police Station.
The intercepted parcel, declared as a “Data Cable Roll,” was shipped from Lier, Belgium, and consigned to a resident of Rodriguez, Rizal.
Upon inspection, authorities found six pouches containing a white crystalline substance, later confirmed to be ketamine, a regulated party drug.
No arrests were made during the operation. But a case for violation of Section 4, Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Importation of Dangerous Drugs) has been filed, authorities said.
Samples of the drugs were submitted to the PDEA Regional Laboratory for confirmatory testing.
Authorities said they are conducting a follow up investigation to identify the source and recipients of the shipment.
