Father Dines Pineda after serving Magalang San Bartolome Parish Church for six years. From May 24, 2019 to May 16, 2025 was transferred to our Lady of Sorrow Church, Barangay Dolores, City San Fernando. Certainly, his sense of humility, kindness, simplicity and his wholly dedication to his vocation as a Parish Priest can't be questioned thereby well remembered by the Magalenos especially Roman Catholics. However, the removal from conspicuous place of the TV sets installed by his predecessor, lessen the active participation of church goers during the holy mass, especially those who are seated at the back. Sound system has deteriorated, homily which is the essential part of the holy mass can not clearly be heared by the church attenders. Now, Magalang San Bartolome Parish has a new parish priest and no other than Fr. Dan Dizon. Actually, he is not new in some parts of Magalang, because, according to Bro. Bro Rene Galang, who is the parish council coordinator. Fr. Dan was first assigned in San Ildefonso Parish from 1993 to 1998 and was also assigned in Holy Eucharist Parish, San Miguel, Magalang from 2002-2007. Since, yours truly was born and grew up therein, I made it appoint to hear mass together with my family in that church. In his, long years as parish priest in Holy Eucharist Church San Miguel. I did not hear or receive any complain or negative comment from the people of Brgy. San Miguel against him. He was that jolly and very approachable. He enjoyed to associate with people from the different walks of life. What a very amassing coincidence, when Fr. Dan was the parish priest in the Holy Eucharist Church, San Miguel, Magalang, it so happened I was then the incumbent Mayor, We have had a good relationship, I as a local Chief Executive and he as priest. On the other hand, if I remember right, two weeks ago there had been a meeting of Pelco Consumers and Pelco 1 officials to take up issues on the rising electric billing, which was brought out by the Pelco 1 Consumers. Mayora Malu was there to hear personally the issue on hand. Since, I was also invited in the meeting as a member of the Municipal Advisory Council, I took the opportunity to open up with the Mayor Fr. Dan's intention

to have an audience with her. She willingly accepted. But, we haven't set the exact date as to when the meeting will be. Later on, Fr. Dan's representative called me up to inform that Fr. Dan was available June 18, Wednesday 10:00 am. However, Mayora Malu beg off for the simple reason that her calendar of appointment was loaded on the date set by Fr. Dan. Instead, she sent her representative Mr. Ryan Miranda head of the Tourism Dept. During our meeting, we discussed about the removal from the church's post TV sets installed by Fr. Sol. Fr. Dan appealed to bring back the tv sets to their former place. But the problem was raised where to get the money to purchase new TV sets. Mr. Ryan Miranda was so concerned about the problem called up Mayora. Without much ado the Magalang LGU shouldered the expenses to purchase new TVs amounting to more than seventy thousand pesos and will be installed before the Magalang town fiesta which is on August 24, 2025. Fr. Dan and those were present in the meeting wish to extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the Hon. Mayora Malu for saving the days and her unparalled generosity.
