President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Monday visited the Bacolor Mini Convention Center and checked on 65 families from Barangays Tinajero and Talba, affected by continuing floods caused by the southwest monsoon, according to the Capitol.
Marcos also checked the situation at Bacolor Integrated School, which is being used as an evacuation center for flood- affected residents.
The Capitol said 566 heads of household in Bacolor will receive P10,000 each.
Some 462 families will receive food packs and hygiene kits as part of the government’s relief operations.
A Mobile Kitchen has been deployed to provide "hot and nutritious" meals to evacuees and other residents affected by the disaster.
Marcos was accompanied by DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon, DSWD Regional Director Venus Rebuldela, Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, Bacolor Mayor Diman Datu, and Vice Mayor Ron Dungca.
The president assured the delivery of assistance and other support to affected families, while the government pursues measures to address the flooding problem and help them safely return to their homes.
