City of San Fernando mayoralty aspirant Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab said that she will push education programs for the city.

Pineda-Cayabyab made this pledge during her recent visit in Barangay Malino of said city.

The former provincial board member even shared her vision to enhance education in the city.

Pineda-Cayabyab is not new in terms of addressing educational needs. She served as the chairperson of the Committee on Education of the Pampanga Provincial Board.

The mayoral bet emphasized the urgent need to construct more school buildings to accommodate the growing student population and to ensure access to quality education.

“It’s disheartening to see elementary students forced to attend classes in shifts, depriving them of sufficient learning time. Some of our Grade 6 students still struggle with basic arithmetic and cannot read or write properly. This is unacceptable, and we must act now,” Pineda-Cayabyab said.

During her stint as committee chair of the provincial board committee on education, Pineda-Cayabyab worked for the construction of school buildings.

She was able to start the titling of lands occupied by public schools in Pampanga.

Before she left her office as board member, 16 schools were awarded free patents from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

Pineda-Cayabyab also mediated between land owners and public schools with land disputes.

"The daycare years are critical in laying a solid foundation for our children’s future,” she said. “By strengthening early childhood care and development programs, we can reduce future challenges and provide children with the best start possible. As long as students maintain the required academic standards, they will receive continuous scholarship support under my administration."

To support students, Pineda-Cayabyab vowed to implement a comprehensive scholarship program that covers college students.

For out-of-school youths, she expressed her commitment to providing skills training opportunities, empowering young individuals to either re-enter the workforce or launch their own businesses.

“My vision is to ensure that every resident of San Fernando has access to opportunities for growth and success. Education is the foundation of that vision,” Pineda-Cayabyab said.
