Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. led the inauguration of a new primary healthcare facility in Barangay Pulungbulu on Tuesday, April 8.

The mayor said the program is part of his ongoing health agenda to provide accessible and quality medical services to every Angeleño.

The facility features a dental clinic, consultation and laboratory rooms, a physician’s office, pantry, storage space, and a pharmacy with essential medicines.

Other officials present during the inauguration were Pampanga First District Representative Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting, members of the city council, Executive Assistant Reina Manuel, department heads, and chiefs-of-offices.

The city government has allocated ?55 million for the construction of nine additional primary health care units, Lazatin said.

The newly-inaugurated facilities are located in Pulung Maragul, Malabanias, Tabun, and Cutud.

Similar facilities in Barangays Anunas, Capaya, Amsic, and Balibago are also scheduled for completion this year.

These will bring the total number of primary healthcare units to 15, the ideal number to serve the city’s population of over 450,000.

Since 2019, Lazatin said the number of health centers increased from six to 15.

The mayor also mentioned the hiring of additional medical staff to ensure quality medical services in the city.
