The Police Regional Office III (PRO-3) reiterated that it implements programs to ensure the safety of communities ahead of May 2025 polls.

Brigadier General Jean Fajardo, PRO-3 director, said they intensified the campaign against loose firearms as part of the goal for safe and orderly elections in Central Luzon.

She said illegal firearms are often linked to crimes and election-related violence.

“We are taking decisive action to keep communities safe as we head toward the May 2025 elections. By strictly enforcing firearms regulations, we are ensuring that lawless elements have no place to operate. This is a shared responsibility—our commitment is firm, but public cooperation is key to securing a peaceful election,” Fajardo said.

From January 10 to February 8, she disclosed that PRO-3 served 39 search warrants across the region.

These moves led to the confiscation of 46 assorted firearms and the arrest of 36 individuals for illegal possession of firearms, she added.

Fajardo vowed to continue strengthening the operations in close coordination with the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), other law enforcement agencies and the general public.

“We call on everyone to report any illegal activities involving firearms. Your vigilance and cooperation are crucial in protecting our communities and ensuring that the upcoming elections are peaceful and fair for all,” she said.
