PRO-3 put up help desks near schools

The Police Regional Office Region 3 (PRO 3) said it has deployed more than 420 police officers to secure schools as the opening of classes starts on Monday, June 16, 2025.

Brigadier General Jean Fajardo, director of PRO-3, also mentioned the establishment of 225 Police Assistance Desks (PADs) near schools.

She said the PRO 3 initiated these in coordination with school officials, local government units, and force multipliers.

The police assistance desks were put up to prevent incidents like physical assault, abduction, snatching, and theft, Fajardo added.

The police director said they are also conducting foot and mobile patrols in schools, transport terminals, and major thoroughfares, in anticipation of increased people movement and traffic congestion.

Fajardo said the regional police will remain on full alert to ensure public safety during the start of the school year.

She appealed for public cooperation to ensure the safety of students throughout the school year.
