The Police Regional Office 3 (PRO-3) said it is implementing measures to improve response time to crimes and other incidents in Central Luzon.
Police Brigadier General Ponce Rogelio I. Peñones Jr., PRO-3 director, said the distribution of handheld radios to police units is one of the initiatives aimed to strengthen coordination of policemen in the field.
“We do not just equip our personnel for compliance, we prepare them for real-world response. Our goal is to make sure every police officer in the field has what they need to respond quickly and effectively because time is critical when public safety is at stake,” he said.
To complement this, Peñones said the PRO-3 conduct Simulation Exercises (SIMEX) and Communication Exercises (COMEX) to test its operational readiness and help units meet the target five-minute response time.
The police general added that he has been conducting visits to different police units in the region to assess deployment strategies and visibility.
He stressed that leadership presence on the ground plays a vital role in improving service delivery.
“Fast service must be paired with leadership that is equally quick to act and quick to respond,” the regional director said.
"The implementation of these measures is part of ongoing efforts to enhance public safety and build community trust through timely and efficient policing," Peñones said.
