The Pampanga State University (formerly Don Honorio Ventura State University) was forced to postpone its Commencement Exercises scheduled for August 14 and August 15 due to an bomb scare.

While the university did not cite a specific reason for the postponement, Bacolor Mayor Diman Datu revealed in a social media post that a bomb threat was reported in connection with the event.

The Pampanga Police Provincial Office later confirmed that no explosives were found at the venue.

The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team and K9 units conducted a thorough inspection and later declared the area safe.

Authorities are currently investigating the source of the false alarm, according to the mayor.

The university apologized for the inconvenience and assured that updates will follow.
