Personnel of the Angeles City Veterinary Office helped in rescuing a reticulated python in Barangay Cuayan, according to a Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) report dated February 25, 2025.

The rescued wildlife measures 14 feet and weighs around 30 kilograms, the DENR Conservation and Development Division said

Regional Executive Director Ralph said that the "rescued python would be transferred to the nearest rescue center for examination and rehabilitation before the release to its natural habitat."

"The DENR emphasizes the importance of handing over captured or rescued wild animals to proper authorities for appropriate care and handling. Additionally, individuals who own exotic pets are reminded to obtain the necessary permits and wildlife registration certificates from the DENR," the agency said.

The DENR reminded the public that Republic Act No. 9147, otherwise known as the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act, "prohibits the possession, transport, and collection of wildlife species and their derivatives without necessary permits" from the agency.
