
Pampanga Fourth District Representative Anna York Bondoc is among this year's awardees of the Gawad Kalikasan of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
Bondoc was included in the 30 environmental champions recognized by the agency during its first “Gawad Kalikasan: Recognizing Partners in Sustainability and Progress for a Greener Future” Awards.
DENR Regional Executive Director Ralph Pablo the awardees are commended for standing at the frontlines of environmental advocacy.
Among the recipients of the Gawad Kalikasan were Bataan Governor Jose Enrique Garcia III; Tarlac Governor Susan A. Yap; and Palayan City Mayor Viandrei Nicole Cuevas and San Jose City Mayor Mario Salvador, both from the province of Nueva Ecija.
“We commend the awardees for standing at the frontlines of environmental advocacy. Each of today’s awardees has proven that change happens when we work together. Local leaders, community groups, academe, and business players have institutionalized sustainability, proving that leadership and development can be both responsible and transformative,” Pablo said.
Other Gawad Kalikasan awardees are Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office of Limay Bataan, LGU Cabanatuan, LGU Paombong, Aurora State College of Technology, Tarlac Agricultural University, Junior Chamber International Olongapo, Geodetic Engineers of the Philippines, Civil Service Commission-Field Office Pampanga, and the regional offices of Department of Tourism, Philippine Statistics Authority, Philippine Information Agency, and the Department of Agrarian Reform
