Almost 100 undernourished students at Maliwalu Elementary School in Bacolor town are receiving nutritious meals for 120 days.
The feeding program was implemented by the Rotary Clubs (RC) under Cluster 4-A of District 3790.
The event, called “Handog ng D3790 sa Kabataan”, served as the launching activity for the Rotary Year 2025-2026 for 11 clubs -- RC Central Pampanga, RC Dolores, RC Eastern Pampanga, RC Greater Floridablanca, RC Metro San Fernando (P), RC Pampanga Cosmopolitan, RC San Fernando Pampanga, RC San Fernando Cabalen, RC Southern Pampanga, RC Villa De Bacolor, and RC Western Pampanga.
With the theme “Rotarians Unite: Nourish Every Child,” a total of 86 students will be fed healthy meals and milk daily.
Club Presidents and Assistant Governor Carla Espinosa led the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with school officials and barangay leaders.
Espinosa also handed over checks to the school to cover the monthly feeding costs.
Individual clubs gave additional donations to support the program.
“Ito pong isinama natin sa feeding program ay ‘yung mga batang tinimbang at hindi naaayon ang kanilang timbang sa kanilang edad. Ang gagawin po natin ay papakainin natin sila at imomonitor ang kanilang timbang hanggang matapos ang program,” Espinosa said.
She added that the program was extended to ensure that the children receive proper nutrition.
Officials and members of the clubs held a motorcade to SM City Pampanga to raise awareness for Rotary’s “End Polio Now” campaign.
The unveiling of Polio Donation Box and giving out of donation cans to the public was held at the SM City Pampanga.
