Kapamilya actor Sam Milby has finally admitted the long standing speculation that he has broken up with 2018 Miss Universe Catriona Gray.
During a recent interview Sam was asked if they are still together.
Sam quickly replied, "No!"
According to sources, even before the two agreed to make their relationship kept in private.
"Kami ni Cat, we've always been private about our relationship. We share certain things nung na-engaged kami, but in terms of the details and buhay namin, we haven't really.
Sam clarified issues having a third party involved causing their romantic affair to end.
The actor stressed "There was never a third party sa amin ni Cat. That needs to be cleared. There is no truth to it all. It makes me sad, may babala ako sa mga tao. Please, mag-ingat kayo sa mga nakikita niyo sa online. If there's no evidence, huwag niyong paniwalaan yung nakikita niyo because in this incident, there's absolutely no truth to it."
In the recent three-night sold out concert of TJ Monteverde at the Araneta Coliseum last Feb 2, 2025, he sang his song "Hanggang Dito Na Lang", on a video taken by some netizens. Catriona was seen sobbing and crying two-seats apart from Sam.
Sam did not make any comment on that incident, stating that he had no idea how Catriona felt that evening. And as far as Sam is concerned, everything went well with him and Catriona even before and after the concert.
"If you wanna ask her what she was feeling, I can't speak for her. I know that we're okay, kahit after nung concert I said, I'll go to the backstage, cause we're okay."
On Feb 8, 2024, the news came out that Sam and Catriona broke up, when some netizens noticed that Catriona is no longer wearing her engagement ring.
It was in May 2024 when Catriona deleted her engagement photos with Sam in her social media account.
At that time, some sources said that Sam and Catriona broke up and remained as friends. In fact, when Catriona celebrated her 30th birthday on Jan 6, 2024, their relationship had already ended. Sources added that Sam realized that he was not yet ready to settle down when he proposed on Feb 16, 2023.
Then on Feb 28, 2024, Cornerstone entertainment, the management arm of both Sam and Catriona, issued a statement referring to the issue.
An excerpt from the statement of the talent management company...."We at Cornerstone, as the talent management agency representing Sam Milby and Catriona Gray, would like to address the recent rumors surrounding their relationship.
While it is true that Sam and Catriona are currently facing some challenges in their relationship, they are actively working on resolving these issues together. We kindly request that everyone respect their privacy during this time as they navigate through this situation. We appreciate the concern and well-wishes from all those who have shown support for the couple."
Meanwhile, Sam also admitted that he's no longer friends with singer Moira Dela Torre. The actor also refutes speculation that Moira was the third party involved in his break up with ex-girlfriend.
"Sobrang close kami before, and I guess people wanted to connect our closeness to may nangyari sa amin. But now we are not friends anymore."
Sam did not give any details on the reason why he has to end his friendship with Moira. "It's an issue that's really sensitive."
The rumor began when Sam unfollowed Moira in her social media accounts in January this year.
Aside from Sam, Yeng Constantino, Erik Santos, TJ Monteverde and some music artists also unfollowed Moira on her social media account, which ignited when Cornerstone announced that Moira is no longer a part of their league of artists.
According to sources, Moira has a lot of attitude problems.
Until now, Sam never talks about Moira, and that leaves his fans the speculation that something deeper happened between the two.
