The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) conferred the Balangay Seal of Excellence to the local government of Masinloc in Zambales province.

The town was recognized for its effective implementation of the Barangay Drug Clearing Program (BDCP).

PDEA said that Masinloc is the first town in the province of Zambales to have all barangays declared drug-cleared.

The agency said the local government has proven its strong and consistent anti-drug efforts through the Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council.

The Balangay Seal of Excellence is the highest recognition given by PDEA to implementers of the Barangay Drug Clearing Program through the Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council.

The agency acknowledges the local government's commitment in the anti-illegal drug campaign.

The BDCP is an initiative of PDEA, Department of the Interior and Local Government, and the Philippine National Police.

It involves validation, monitoring, and post-clearance support to ensure the sustainability of drug-cleared status and the promotion of safer, healthier communities.
