Upat ka mga Pinoy ang wala pa makit-i human sa magnitude 7.7 nga linog nga niigo sa Myanmar sa miaging semana.
Sa radio interview, si Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary for Migrant Workers Affairs Eduardo de Vega niingon nga magtiayon ang duha sa wala pa makit-i nga mga Pinoy nga lakip sa mga residente sa usa ka building nga nahugno niadtong Biyernes, Marso 28, 2025.
“’Yung four unaccounted Filipinos are professionals, either working as teachers or office workers,” matod ni de Vega.
Sa laing bahin, nagkanayon si de Vega nga wala’y narekord nga Pinoy nga namatay sa Thailand nga apektado sab sa maong linog.
“Sa Thailand, wala po (casualties). Hindi naman bumagsak ang buildings doon. More or less, bumabalik na sa normality (ang sitwasyon sa Thailand),” dugang niya.
Sa usa ka mensahe, ang Philippine Embassy sa Thailand nideklara nga “fake news” ang taho nga adunay 10 ka mga Pinoy ang nangamatay sa Thailand tungod ning maong linog.
“As of this time, the Embassy has not received any report of Filipino nationals who were harmed by this unfortunate disaster. The Embassy continues to monitor the situation for any Filipino nationals who may be affected and may need immediate assistance due to the earthquake,” mensahe sa embahada.
Gikan ning Dominggo, Marso 30, niabot na sa 1,600 ang gikatahong ningpanaw tungod sa insidente.
Ang gobiyerno sa Pilipinas nisaad og suporta ngadto sa Myanmar. Ang Office of Civil Defense maoy mangulo sa paghatod sa gikinahanglang mga ayuda alang sa mga biktima sa katalagman.
“We stand in solidarity with Myanmar during this difficult time.
