According to the organizers, the all-women bike ride “will open the 2023 Pedal for People and Planet (PPP) bike action series and will be the first-ever all-women bike ride organized under PPP.”

"The bike ride also aims to encourage women to fight for the right to food, access to resources and information, gender-responsive policies and programs and effective solutions to the global climate crisis," the organizers said in a statement.

The bike rides are organized in Quezon City, Batangas City, Bulacan, Atimonan, Camarines Norte, Cagayan de Oro and Cebu.

The PPP organizers and partners include the Asian Peoples’ Movement on Debt and Development (APMDD), Oxfam, Quezon City Gender Development Office, Philippine Movement for Climate Justice, the Firefly Brigade, Siklista Pilipino, Pinay Bike Commuter Community, Tropang Women Bikers, Women Bikers for Safe Spaces, 350 Pilipinas, Sanlakas, Oriang, and Aniban ng mga Manggagawa sa Agrikultura .
