Ang Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) kaniadtong Sabado, Septiyembre 23, 2023, nag-ingon nga gisusi na nila ang gitawag niini nga “insidente sa seguridad sa impormasyon” nga miigo sa sistema niini kaniadtong Biyernes.
Sa usa ka pamahayag, ang Presidente ug Chief Executive Officer (P/CEO) sa PhilHealth nga si Emmanuel Ledesma miingon nga nakig-alayon na sila sa Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) kalabot sa pag-atake sa ransomware.
“We are currently investigating the matter together with concerned government agencies, which include the Department of Information and Communications Technology, to assess its extent,” matod ni Ledesma.
“Rest assured that we will get to the bottom of this and will institute stronger systems to prevent this from happening again in the future,” siya nidugang.
Samtang ang imbestigasyon nagpadayon, siya miingon nga ang PhilHealth kinahanglan nga mopatuman sa “mga lakang sa pagpugong,” lakip na ang pagsira sa tibuok sistema.
Nanawagan si Ledesma alang sa pasensya sa mga miyembro niini nga nagtinguha nga maka-access sa sistema sa PhilHealth.
“We appeal for the public’s understanding regarding the matter,” matod ni Ledesma.
Niadtong Biyernes, ang PhilHealth nakasinati og Medusa ransomware attack sa sistema niini.
