Sa pagpalambo sa konserbasyon ug paningkamot sa pagpabalik sa kalasangan, ang Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. - One To Tree (RAFI OTT) program ug ang Department of Environment and Natural Resources Region 7 (DENR 7) pormal ninglagda og memorandum of agreement (MOA) niadtong Hunyo 15, 2022 sa Kabilin Center, Cebu City.
Ang MOA gitumong sa pagpalig-on sa RAFI OTT ug DENR 7 nga paningkamot sa pag-ugmad sa kalasangan ug plano sa mga kalihokan sa pagpabalik sa kakahoyan, forest enhancement, forest parks, ug agro-forestry.
Kabahin usab kini sa pagpalambo sa kahibalo sa kamahinungdanon sa biodiversity conservation ug halapad nga partisipasyon sa environmental protection programs.
Taliwala sa makapaalarma nga epekto sa climate change ug nagpadayon sa pagkaupaw sa kalasangan sa tibuok kalibotan, si RAFI Chief Operating Officer Riella Mae Christa Guioguio, nipasabot nga dunay panginahanglan sa pagpalapad ug pagpadayon sa paningkamot sa konserbasyon.
"With the recent typhoon Odette, we know that climate change will happen and is happening. But at least we can slow it down through what we can do with our various programs. We believe that enabling communities to be resilient, we want our communities to be adaptable to climate change through our One To Tree Program. We are here for the long haul. This process will really take time. It might not happen in our lifetime, but we will plant the seeds and hopefully the next generation can benefit from this,” matod ni Guioguio.
“With this partnership with DENR 7 at hand, RAFI OTT commits to help engage communities to protect and rehabilitate the environment through the establishment of tree nurseries and plantations together with partner communities. The partnership paves the way for more opportunities of synergy and collaboration between DENR 7 and RAFI OTT,” dason niya.
“For me this is an initial platform for us to work together. This is an understanding that RAFI and DENR are collaborating, and this would become a foundation to a stronger and a more productive working relationship,” matod ni Anthony Dignadice, RAFI OTT Executive Director.
Si DENR 7 Regional Executive Director Paquito Melicor, Jr. nipadayag sa iyang pagpasalamat sa RAFI OTT sa paghimo sa panag-uban nga posible ug iyang giila ang responsibilidad sa pagpanalipod sa kinaiyahan ug biodiversity conservation uban sa nagkadaghang katawhan ug mga organisasyon nga ning-uban sa naasoy nga paningkamot bahin sa kinatibuk-ang kahimtang sa kalikupan sa Central Visayas.
Kabahin kini sa kasaulogan sa Philippine Environment Month, kini nga panag-uban nagsimbolo sa silaw sa kabuntagon ug kahayag alang sa kalikupan ang kolaborasyon sa duha ka grupo.
