Sa Disyembre 13, 2022, ang liderato sa Daanbantayan niklaro nga ang Kimud Shoal dili hurisdiksyon sa Daanbantayan diin nakuha ang thresher shark, kansang pagdakop niini ilegal.
Ang Kagamhanan sa Lungsod nipasabot nga ang maong lugar nahimutang sa kadagatan sa Leyte.
“Kimud Shoal, the supposed place where said thresher shark was accidentally caught, is not part of the territorial jurisdiction of the Municipality of Daanbantayan,” pagklaro pinaagi sa post sa social media page sa Daanbantayan LGU.
“But rather it is under the territorial jurisdiction of the Province of Leyte and the fishermen who caught said thresher shark are not from the Municipality of Daanbantayan but from Leyte,” dugang niini.
