Ang mga kanhi Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) ug ilang mga dependent nikuyog sa gipahigayon nga Biyaheng Agripreneur sa miaging semana samtang ang Department of Migrant Workers (DMW RO-VII) ug ang Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA RO-VII) nagpadayon sa pagtinabangay alang sa mga OFW ug ilang mga pamilya sa Rehiyon 7.
Gitawag nga “Biyaheng Agripreneur for OFWs and Dependents in Cebu Province,” ang kalihukan una alang sa DMW RO-VII, nagdala sa mga OFW ug ilang dependents ngadto sa Q Farm, usa ka agri-tourism hub nga nahimutang sa Barangay Cambinocot, Dakbayan sa Sugbo.
Gipangunahan sa OWWA RO-VII, ang kalihukan nagtanyag og mga lecture bahin sa organic vegetable farming ug livestock management basics gawas sa farm tour diin ang mga partisipante mismo ang nanguha og mga utanon ug prutas.
“We are very grateful to RD Rey Jacalan and Ma’am Dineza Gelle Zamora of OWWA for allowing the DMW RO-VII personnel and our livelihood beneficiaries to join the activity. We hope that the OFWs and their families will be able to apply what they have learned from the lectures. After all, an agriculture-related business is a lucrative one. Yes, it requires effort and time and dedication and knowledge. And I also agree with the saying that goes, may pera sa lupa,” matod ni DMW RO-VII OIC-Regional Director, Maria Eloida O. Cantona.
Mapasalamaton ang mga benepisyaryo sa DMW sa ilang kasinatian ug mapasalamaton sa Departamento ug sa OWWA tungod sa maong oportunidad.
“Naka-join na sad mi og field trip!” matod ni Yuri Jordan, usa ka benepisyaryo sa Livelihood Development Assistance Program (LDAP) sa DMW.
Nagrepresentar sa DMW sa maong aktibidad mao ang mga personahe sa Welfare Reintegration Services Division (WRSD) nga gipangulohan ni Luchel Senarlo-Taniza, Supervising Labor and Employment Officer.
“I am in awe of the outcome of the activity. It was truly enriching. Very informative and moving. I could not thank the OWWA enough for the experience. I’m so inspired. Like now, I want to start my own backyard garden. We don’t have to make it big right away. We start small and move forward and be consistent about it,” matod niya.
Ang pag-apil sa mga OFW sa mga programa sa Biyaheng Agripreneur naghatag og daghang benepisyo.
Kini naghatag og kahigayunan alang sa mga OFW ug sa ilang mga pamilya nga masuta ang potensyal sa agrikultura isip tinubdan sa kita ug kalambuan nga pang-ekonomiya.
Mahimong mosangpot kini sa mas hayahay ug mabungahong kinabuhi dinhi sa nasod ug posible nga makapakunhod sa panginahanglan sa pagtrabaho sa gawas sa nasod.
