Ang Kanlaon Volcano sa Negros Occidental nibuto na usab niadtong Lunes, Disyembre 9, 2024.
Ang Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) niingon nga usa ka eksplosibong pagbuto ang nahitabo sa summit vent sa Kanlaon Volcano sa alas 3:03 sa hapon.
“The eruption produced a voluminous plume that rapidly rose to 3,000 meters above the vent and drifted west-southwest. Pyroclastic density currents or PDCs descended the slopes on the general southeastern edifice based on IP and thermal camera monitors,” sumala sa Phivolcs.
Gipataas sa Phivolcs ang alert level sa Kanlaon Volcano gikan sa 2 (nagdugang nga kagubot) ngadto sa 3, nga nagpasabot nga adunay magmatic unrest.
Nagpasabot usab kini nga nagsugod na ang usa ka magmatic eruption ug kini mahimong mouswag ngadto sa dugang pa nga mga pagbuto.
“All local government units are advised to evacuate the six-kilometer radius from the summit of the volcano and must be prepared for additional evacuation if activity warrants,” pasidaan sa ahensiya sa mga residente. /TPM/SunStar Philippines
