Gisaulog sa Regional Rehabilitation Center for Youth-Girls (RRCY Girls) ang unang anibersaryo niini pinaagi sa usa ka makahuluganon nga kalihukan nga nagtimaan sa usa ka tuig sa pagkaayo, pagtubo, ug paghatag og ikaduhang higayon sa mga batan-ong babaye nga anaa sa ilang pag-atiman.
Uban sa tema nga “RRCY Girls: One Year of Leading Change, Shaping Tomorrow,” gitigom sa maong selebrasyon ang mga residente, kawani, ug mga bisita aron pasalamatan ang mga kalampusan ug kausaban nga nasinati sa sentro sulod sa milabay nga usa ka tuig.
Gisugdan ang programa pinaagi sa Thanksgiving Mass nga gipangunahan ni Rev. Father Reymilo I. Talaugon ug Rev. Father Gorgonio Ilubit sa Missionary Society of the Philippines.
Sa iyang mensahe, gipasiugda ni Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 7 Regional Director Shalaine Marie S. Lucero, CESO III ang kamahinungdanon sa unang tuig sa operasyon sa sentro.
“A year ago, the DSWD Field Office 7 opened the country’s first regional rehabilitation center exclusively for girls. We are honored that this pioneering initiative began here in Central Visayas,” matod ni Lucero.
“But what truly makes this center special is not that it is the first. It is the fact that every single day this place chooses hope over despair, restoration over rejection, and possibilities over labels,” dugang niya.

Gipirmahan sab sa mga residente ug kawani ang ilang saad sa commitment wall ubos sa mensaheng “Our Commitment to Continuous Care and Transformation.”
Si Lucero, uban ni Assistant Regional Director for Operations Jiah L. Sayson ug Regional Center Coordinator Rosemarie S. Salazar, nangulo sa pagpasidungog sa mga indibidwal ug organisasyong adunay dakong natampo sa paglambo sa RRCY Girls.
Sa wala pa matapos ang programa, usa ka kanhi residente ang nihatag og makapatandog nga testimonya.
“Balancing work and school as an independent youth is a daily battle. There are still nights when I get worried about my future, but the difference now is that I am no longer afraid. I am striving; I am fighting for the life I deserve,” matod niya.
Gidasig sab niya ang mga residente pinaagi sa mensahe nga, “Do not give up on yourselves. People will judge us and the stigma will be heavy. But our past mistakes do not define our capacity for greatness.”
Samtang, niingon sab si Sayson, “Kini nga Center gitukod dili lang isip usa ka pasilidad, kundili isip usa ka sanctuary, usa ka dapit diin ang paglaom ginatukod pag-usab.”
“In just the first semester of 2026, we have had the honor of serving 11 young women. We have seen the fruits of our labor as two of our residents completed their intensive rehabilitation and have been reintegrated with their families,” sigon niya.
