Ang mga magbabalaod sa Kamara nga magsilbing prosecutors sa impeachment trial ni Bise Presidente Sara Duterte nihangyo kang Senate President Francis Escudero nga patubagon si Duterte sa mga kaso nga iyang giatubang.
Sa motion to issue summons nga gisang-at sa Senado ni House Minority Leader Marcelino Libanan, ang prosecution team niawhag kang Escudero nga pangayuon ang tubag ni Duterte sa Articles of Impeachment "sulod sa non-extendible period nga 10 ka adlaw gikan sa pagkadawat sa writ of summons."
Gikutlo sa prosecution team ang Rule VII of Resolution 39 pinetsahan Marso 23, 2022, sa Rules of Procedure in Impeachment Trial, “Upon the presentation of articles of impeachment and the organization of the Senate as herein before provided, a writ of summons shall be issued to the person impeached, reciting or incorporating said articles, and notifying him/her to appear before the Senate upon a day and at a place to be fixed by the Senate and named in such writ, and to file his/her answer to said articles of impeachment within a non-extendible period of ten (10) days...."
“Such language is significant and has been determined by the Supreme Court to relay an intention for the said rules to be 'valid from the date of their adoption until they are amended or repealed' and 'to be effective even in the next Congress,’” tipik sa dokumento nga gi-submit sa Senado.
