ANG kanhi Street Child World Cup performer Agot Danton sa Davao City, nga bag-uhay lamang misalmot sa Philippine Lady Volcanoes national women’s rugby sevens team sa Asia Rugby Women’s Olympic Qualifier sa Guangzhou, China, motigi sa iyang unang Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, Nobyembre 30 ngadto Disyembre 11.
Ang 22-anyos nga si Danton, nga nagdako sa pag-atiman sa Save Our Souls (SOS) Children’s Village Davao, nagsulti nga dakong oportunidad nga siya makaduwa sa Olympic qualifier.
“I feel grateful kasi I was chosen to be in the Top 12 players to play in Olympic qualifiers. My coaches in rugby are really believing in my capacity. Saka being in Olympic qualifiers was another level for me to gain experience and this is also in preparation for the SEA Games,” suma niya sa SunStar Davao sa Facebook interview.

Si Danton nga nagsugod og duwa og football sa edad nga otso nagkanayon nga excited siya sa iyang pagduwa sa SEA Games.
“I think I will just do my best kung ano man maging role ko sa rugby. I expect myself still to be part in Top 12 and we can win the gold in SEA Games. I want to score lots of try in the tournament,” suma niya.
Angkon niya, wa niya gibiyaan ang football isip sport ilabi na nga ang SOS regular nga nagahimo og football tournaments, nagapadala sab kini og tim sa lain-laing siyudad.
“Football, it’s always there for me. It’s hard lang kasi no one is recommending me to the national team sa football kahit magaling ka. I don’t like their way of having a tryout. Sa Manila lagi tryout nila saka they aren’t trying to go into the provinces to look for some players there, for example in Davao,” suma niya.
Niya, mibalhin siya sa rugby tungod sa daghang oportunidad nga mituktok kaniya.
“I love the way the concept of rugby. I mean, yung papaano lalaruin saka sobrang challenging din siya for me kasi I’m a small person na mag-ta-tackle ng mga malalaki na kalaban. I love it also kasi the people in rugby loves to see me playing rugby kahit sa football naman,” dugang sa Dabawenyang magduduwa.
