PIONEERING electric vehicle brand Omoda & Jaecoo has opened its market in Eastern Visayas, making its mark in innovation, green technology, and the future of driving in the region.

“Our growth in Cebu City has been steadily growing since our launch last December, but of course, we at Eres Automotive want even more people to experience the technology and top-notch ride Omoda & Jaecoo vehicles can offer,” Joseph Carlo Japson, president and chief executive officer of Eres Automotive, told Sunstar Philippines on Saturday, May 10, 2025.

“Coming to Tacloban City was always one of our priorities and major goals,” he added.

Aaron JP Almadro, marketing director and consultant, said their launching event at Hacienda Verde in Tacloban on Thursday, May 8, officially made Omoda & Jaecoo the first electric car brand in Eastern Visayas.

“Electric cars are the future, and the features and top-tier tech of Omoda & Jaecoo are what set us apart from other brands, not to mention our price point. We're all so excited as we have already struck partnerships with local businesses and establishments to put up charging stations for the convenience of our customers,” Almadro said.

While their showroom is yet to be announced, Almadro said that sales have already started with an authorized partner service center in Tacloban.

“Stay tuned as we are launching even more model variants in the next months,” he said.

“We want to bring only the best technology to our ‘kababayans’ through Omoda & Jaecoo products. We thank those who attended and welcomed us warmly. We'll be setting up in Ormoc City shortly after this,” added Joey Japson, chief marketing officer and operations Manager.

Meanwhile, Tacloban-based financial technology company Paytaca said they also partnered with Omoda & Jaecoo through the power of Bitcoin Cash payments.

Paytaca earlier inked an agreement with Omoda & Jaecoo Cebu, turning it as the first car brand in the world to accept cryptocurrency as a payment option. (Ronald O. Reyes/SunStar Philippines)
