A LEADING shoe brand is actively scouting potential areas for athletic development in Tacloban City and the Eastern Visayas region, in line with its “long-standing mission of spurring on the journeys of aspiring athletes.”

“It takes time, especially now that we’re about to enter a new academic year. But we are more than willing and tremendously enthusiastic about collaborating with Tacloban-based schools to provide them with gear and opportunities for competition next school year,” said ANTA Philippines Head of Marketing Mikko Abello.

Following a favorable reception from the city after the opening of its ANTA Superstore at Robinsons Place Marasbaras in Tacloban last November 2024, ANTA Philippines has positioned itself as a “difference-maker” in athletic and lifestyle apparel in Eastern Visayas.

The brand has previously collaborated with other institutions across the Visayas.

“We grabbed the opportunity to open a superstore in Tacloban, and since then, the sales and foot traffic we’ve experienced have exceeded expectations. I believe we are providing the region with the right products for their daily needs,” said ANTA Philippines General Manager JP Paglinawan in a statement to SunStar Philippines.

He also expressed pride in how the store “successfully propelled the city to new heights by providing direct access to high-quality apparel and footwear.”

Paglinawan also disclosed that the ANTA Superstore in Tacloban houses store-exclusive pieces from some of its signature lines, such as Kyrie Irving’s “KAI” collection, Klay Thompson’s line, and specialized running apparel and footwear.

“The ANTA Superstore in Tacloban has given us the confidence to open more stores of its kind in the country. It was great news to learn that this is something the market in Eastern Visayas was actively looking for,” Paglinawan said.

“Given that the Philippine Superstore has outperformed its Southeast Asian counterparts, such as in Malaysia, this will be the first of many superstores,” he added. (Ronald Reyes/SunStar Philippines)
