Man, 23, hangs self in Palo town

A 23-YEAR-OLD man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his home in Palo, Leyte Sunday, September 13, 2020.

The victim, single and driver, was a resident of Sitio Caloogan, Barangay San Jose in Palo town.

His body was found at 7:45 a.m. Sunday, but the incident was only reported to authorities on Monday afternoon, September 14.

The victim's mother found her son's lifeless body already hanging inside his room with a rope tied around his neck, police said in a report.

Initial investigation disclosed that the victim had also attempted to commit suicide last year because of a personal problem.

According to his family, they kept on counseling the victim because he was always depressed.

On September 8, a 22-year-old man also hanged himself inside his residence in Villa Sophia Village, Barangay 108-Tagpuro in Tacloban City.

According to authorities, the victim was depressed after his live-in partner left him.

Police found no foul play in the incident.

In August, three persons, including a four-month pregnant woman, were also found dead after committing suicide in the towns of Anahawan, Calbiga, and Jiabong in Eastern Visayas.
