A 23-YEAR-OLD man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his home in Palo, Leyte Sunday, September 13, 2020.
The victim, single and driver, was a resident of Sitio Caloogan, Barangay San Jose in Palo town.
His body was found at 7:45 a.m. Sunday, but the incident was only reported to authorities on Monday afternoon, September 14.
The victim's mother found her son's lifeless body already hanging inside his room with a rope tied around his neck, police said in a report.
Initial investigation disclosed that the victim had also attempted to commit suicide last year because of a personal problem.
According to his family, they kept on counseling the victim because he was always depressed.
On September 8, a 22-year-old man also hanged himself inside his residence in Villa Sophia Village, Barangay 108-Tagpuro in Tacloban City.
According to authorities, the victim was depressed after his live-in partner left him.
Police found no foul play in the incident.
In August, three persons, including a four-month pregnant woman, were also found dead after committing suicide in the towns of Anahawan, Calbiga, and Jiabong in Eastern Visayas.
