In 2024, he made history as the first Cebuano to win the Grand Prize at the Scott Kelby Worldwide Photowalk, beating nearly 6,000 global entries. He also placed 1st in the Sinulog Fluvial Procession/Religious Activity category and 8th in the Float/Higante/Puppeteers category the same year.
A three-time Photographer of the Year (2017–2019) at the Photographers Club of Cebu and a Hall of Fame inductee, Butch was also a finalist in the prestigious HIPA Awards in Dubai and a two-time Grand Winner of the Dragon Boat Fiesta Photo Contest (2017 & 2018).
