AUTHORITIES have arrested one person and seized bomb-making materials in a law enforcement operation in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police said Wednesday, May 28, 2025.
The Zamboanga Sibugay Maritime Police Station (ZS Marpsta) identified the arrested person as alias Sang, who was caught in possession of bomb-making materials.
The police said Sang was arrested in a law enforcement operation through service of a search warrant on Tuesday, in Sitio Tinago, Poblacion village, Talusan, Zamboanga Sibugay.
The police said seized from the possession of Sang were 189 times fuses, 1,021 non-electric blasting caps, and more than 50 kilos of ammonium nitrate.
The police said charges for illegal possession of explosives and incendiary devices will be filed against the arrested suspect.
The suspect was arrested by joint police units including the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Zamboanga Sibugay. (SunStar Zamboanga)
