AUTHORITIES have arrested a suspect and seized some P6.8 million worth of illegal drugs in an anti-drug operation in Zamboanga del Sur, an official said Thursday, May 8, 2025.
Maharani Gadaoni-Tosoc, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Zamboanga Peninsula director, identified the arrested suspect as Nasrodin Acmad, 32, a resident of Barangay Poblacion, Sultan Naga Dimaporo, Lanao del Norte.
Gadaoni-Tosoc said Acmad was arrested around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, in San Carlos village, Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur.
“He was arrested after selling a vacuum-sealed transparent pack containing 1,000 grams (one kilo) of suspected shabu to a PDEA poseur-buyer,” Gadaoni-Tosoc said.
She said seized from Acmad were a bundle of boodle money topped with one genuine P1,000 marked money, a tricycle, a cellular phone, plastic containers and a paper bag.
She said the arrested suspect will be charged for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
She said the anti-drug operation was launched by the PDEA operatives with the support of the police, military and the Philippine Coast Guard.
The confiscation of one kilo of shabu is the biggest drug haul by PDEA in Zamboanga Peninsula in May. (SunStar Zamboanga)
