THE 100th Infantry Battalion (100IB) has assisted the Ministry of Public Order and Safety in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MPOS-Barmm) in the implementation of a sustainment support program in Sulu, the military said Monday, March 24, 2025.
The 100IB said the assistance include the provision of crucial security, transportation, and manpower support to the MPOS-Barmm in the implementation of a sustainment support program on Friday, March 21, in Tumantangis village, Indanan, Sulu.
"This initiative involves the turnover of need-based financial assistance, along with the distribution of rice and groceries to the local residents. The program aims to address the community's needs, particularly after significant rehabilitation efforts under the Balik Barangay Program, which followed the challenges posed by the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG)," the 100IB said in a statement.
The Balik Barangay Program was successfully launched in March 2023 in Tumantangis village through a community support program conducted by the 100IB.
To build on this momentum and ensure the continued success of the rehabilitation efforts, Al-Shameir Aminula, head of MPOS-Sulu, in close coordination with the 100IB, has initiated the sustainment support program, which is aimed to fortify peace, stability, and sustainable development in Tumantangis, Indanan.
The 100IB said the collective commitment to peace-building and development reflects the ongoing efforts to reinforce stability and growth within the municipality of Indanan, ensuring a better future for the people of Tumantangis village. (SunStar Zamboanga)
