THE Army's 11th Infantry Division (11ID) has activated a new communication facility in Bud Tumatangis, Indanan, boosting the 11ID's communication capabilities in the province of Sulu.

The facility marked a significant step in improving 11ID's communication capabilities, especially in remote and mountainous areas where signal coverage is limited since Bud Tumatangis is the highest peak in Sulu with an elevation of 811 meters above sea level.

The communication facility is expected to play a crucial role in supporting peacekeeping operations, disaster response, and other military missions across the province of Sulu.

"This extension is not just for radio transmission-it enables internet connectivity as well, significantly enhancing our mission effectiveness," said Brigadier General Emmanuel Cabasan, 1103rd Infantry Brigade commander.

Cabasan led the inauguration ceremony of the facility on Saturday, June 28, on behalf of Major General Leonardo Peña, 11ID and Joint Task Force (JTF)-Orion commander.

The ceremony featured the blessing of the facility followed by the official ribbon-cutting, symbolizing the activation of the new communication hub. (SunStar Zamboanga)
