THE Sulu-based Army's 11th Infantry Division (11ID) has conducted a three-day Social Media Training to strengthen public affairs and cultivate digital competence among its personnel from line and organic units.

The 11ID said Monday, June 23, 2025, that the training was held from June 18 to 20 at Kuta Heneral Teodulfo Bautista in Busbus village, Jolo, Sulu and was also attended by representatives from partner agencies, including the Sulu Police Provincial Office, Bureau of Fire Protection, and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

The training was facilitated by subject matter experts from the Civil Relations Group, Philippine National Police, and the United States Marines Special Operations Company.

The 11ID said the training covered essential topics, including target audience analysis, counter-propaganda, and managing misinformation and disinformation.

The participants also learned about social media content development, video editing and photography, alongside discussions on Armed Forces of the Philippines and PNP social media policies.

The training concluded with hands-on exercises to apply the skills of the participants in real-world scenarios.

Major General Leonardo Pe a, 11ID and Joint Task Force (JTF)-Orion commander, reminded the troops to always uphold the responsibility that comes with wearing the uniform.

"Each time you put it on, ask yourself-are you wearing it just for yourself, for the people, or for the organization you serve?" Pe a said, emphasizing that following the insights gained from the three-day training, all officers and personnel must now be more responsible and strategic in engaging with social media.

He said their actions online should reflect the values of their respective units and must never compromise the mission or integrity of the organization they represent. (SunStar Zamboanga)
