
THE Army's 1st Infantry Division (1ID) has initiated changes to the position of commandant of the 1st Division Training School (1DTS) in Pulacan, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur.
Installed as the new commandant of the 1DTS is Colonel Nolasco Coderos Jr., who succeeded Colonel Danilo Ambe.
Major General Yegor Rey Barroquillo Jr., 1ID commander, led the change of command ceremony on Monday, June 2, at the 1DTS grounds.
The 1ID said Wednesday, June 4, that Coderos served as the executive officer of the 102nd Infantry Brigade prior to his new designation.
The 1ID said Ambe is set to assume his new post on Thursday, June 5, as the commander of the Joint Task Force Zamboanga in Camp General Arturo Enrile, Malagutay village, Zamboanga City.
During the ceremony, Ambe expressed heartfelt gratitude to the officers and personnel of 1DTS for their unwavering support during his tenure.
"It has been an honor to serve as the Commandant of 1DTS, even for a short period. I am proud of what we have accomplished together, and I have every confidence that Colonel Coderos will continue to uphold the values and standards we have set," the 1ID said in a statement, quoting Ambe as saying.
Coderos conveyed his appreciation for the opportunity to lead and reaffirmed his dedication to the mission of 1DTS.
"I am both humbled and honored to assume this position. The legacy of excellence at 1DTS is one I deeply respect, and I am committed to building upon the foundation laid by Colonel Ambe," the 1ID stated, quoting Coderos as saying.
Barroquillo lauded Ambe for his notable contributions, particularly in enhancing training programs and fostering discipline among trainees. (SunStar Zamboanga)
