TWO newly identified high-value individuals (HVIs) were arrested, and some P840,000 worth of dried marijuana leaves were seized in an anti-drug operation in Zamboanga City, police said Saturday, June 21, 2025.
Police Colonel Fidel Fortaleza Jr., Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) director, identified the arrested HVIs as Jadan Omisol, 23, and Arthur Galvez, 23.
Fortaleza said the suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation around 1:43 a.m. Saturday at Kilometer 6, Pasonanca village, Zamboanga City.
The suspects claimed they were merely paid to drop off the package to an individual at Kilometer 6, Pasonanca village.
They further claimed they were unaware of the contents of the package.
Fortaleza said seized from the suspects were seven kilos of dried marijuana leaves worth P840,000; a bundle of 99 counterfeit P1,000 bills topped with one genuine P1,000 bill used as buy-bust money; and a motorcycle.
He said charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspects. (SunStar Zamboanga)
